Allegations of patient death due to negligence in Suri Super Specialty Hospital

Rampurhat : A controversy has erupted at Suri Super Specialty Hospital in Birbhum district after a patient, Mamoni Dalui from Sadaipur, died under mysterious circumstances following a cesarean section. The patient’s family alleges that a medicine administered by hospital authorities led to excessive bleeding and eventually her death.
According to the family, Mamoni underwent a successful cesarean section on Friday and was recovering well. However, on Saturday, hospital authorities administered a medicine to her, which allegedly caused the fatal bleeding.
The family has accused the hospital of medical negligence and demanded a thorough investigation. They also claim that hospital authorities tried to destroy evidence by removing the administered medicines.
Birbhum District Congress President and former MLA of Hansan Assembly Constituency, Advocate Milton Rasid, has raised concerns about possible negligence in treatment or the use of counterfeit medicines. He stated that Mamon’s body would be taken to another government hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Despite repeated attempts, Dr. Nilanjan Mondal, Chief Medical Officer of Suri Super Specialty Hospital, remained unreachable for comment. The incident has sparked outrage among locals, who demand action against the hospital authorities. The police have started an investigation into the matter.
